The girls behind
Prove Them Wrong
Sophie and Irene are sisters first and business owners second. They enjoy working together to create new things.

Meet Irene
Irene is a freshman at Grafton High School who, prior to a life-altering accident, was a dedicated athlete participating in year-round sports. She was a goalie for soccer and played basketball year round off and on since she kindergarten. However, her injury caused her to slow down and shift her focus. During her stay at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, she was given a painting kit. Despite having limited use of her hands and no prior experience, she found a natural talent for art. When Prove Them Wrong started she used the platform to sell her paintings and honey. Irene thought Sophie could sell her bags with Irene's mantra on them.
Today, Irene keeps herself busy with various activities, including therapy, horseback riding, and weight training. She has a passion for building things and dreams of becoming an engineer. In the meantime, she is excited to obtain her driver's license this fall. Despite her injury, Irene continues to pursue her passions and find new hobbies. Irene loves animals and has a goal of getting a service dog. She loves her cat and spends a lot of time with her bees. Her first year of beekeeping was a successful one. It was so great she wants to expand to two hives this coming spring.

Meet Sophie
Sophie is a 17-year-old high school junior with a passion for design. She spends her free time sewing an array of items, including cosmetic bags, clothes, blankets, and décor, and has even created her junior year homecoming dress. Additionally, Sophie is responsible for sewing the patches on the hats and the tags on the sweatshirts. When Prove Them Wrong started Irene thought a perfect thing to sell would be Sophie's cosmetic bags with Irene's mantra on them. They liked the idea that it could be a daily reminder for people that they can accomplish anything!
Sophie is always on the go, keeping busy with activities like snowboarding, photography, coaching the summer rec swim team, nannying, water skiing, tubing, and hanging out with friends. In addition to her creative skills, Sophie is also a gifted athlete. Her main sport is diving but also swims for Grafton High School. Her passion for dive allowed her to be on the state team this year. Beside trying pole vault, and gymnastics ,she joined the Grafton Girls Soccer team as goalie despite never playing the sport in honor of Irene. Although she doesn't like to talk about it, she's looking at schools for after graduation. Her family hopes she stays in-state and close to home! She's thinking of majoring in early education or psychology.
