One Year later

One year ago today I was in a horrible accident causing me to be paralyzed from the neck down, and if you’ve been following my progress you know my doctor told me I will never be able to walk again. With that I also would never be able to move my arms, write, and do simple activities. As I heard this news I was determined to walk because I am very stubborn.  Fast forward to now, and after months of therapy I started walking independently. 

I just want to say thanks for everyone's support through this last year. It made me realize all of the love and support this world has for people. Every single person who made me laugh, encouraged me to try, or got me into these amazing therapy places has helped me be what I am today. I am walking, working on running and jumping! It is crazy how far I came from being paralyzed from the chest down to now living my best life. After this past year it made me realize all of the amazing things I took for granted. Thankfully God was on my side and helped me get those back. I truly believe God was helping me recover this whole time. For example, today He made the sunrise one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. After this year I learned what it means to be in a community after all of people’s support and prayers. 

Even though there's many things I continue not being able to do I will keep working and proving them wrong. Just know if someone says you won’t be able to do something, prove them wrong because they don’t know about your determination, strength, and stubbornness so you can do whatever you want to even if all odds are against you like I did.
